Photographer, Director and Designer

Julianne Snow Gauron is a full-time freelance photographer specializing in documentary, editorial and commercial photography. With more than a decade as an industrial designer, she brings unique research, strategy, and storytelling abilities to her clients.

Clients include non-profits, NGOs and purpose driven brands seeking to tell clear and impactful visual narratives. With her background, she can support clients in pre-production, clarifying their organizational DNA, overall messaging, and goals.

Her narrative photography and video encompass sustainable agriculture, rural culture, conservation, humanitarian, equity, and adventure themes, and often sits at the intersection of a few of these topics. Using primarily natural light to capture natural moments, Julianne believes visual storytelling is a powerful tool for connecting people.

Julianne’s work has been published in major print media and directed the award-winning documentary short film series, Dear Senator.

She has lived in India, the Marshall Islands, England, Ireland and Italy, and travels widely for work and pleasure. She lives outside Boston, and when she is not working can be found at the beach with her dog or in the garden with her cat.

Testimonials

“Julianne Gauron has the unique combination of journalistic integrity and preparation, design and aesthetic sensibility, and an ability to create an intimate human connection with anyone on this earth. From photography, design, directing, writing; her range in skill is both wide and deep. Julianne is one of the most trusted and talented directors we’ve worked with, and we can’t recommend her enough.” - Windy Films

“Don't hesitate to choose Snow on the Road! Julianne is such a talented photographer. Her process was seamless and convenient. She sent me an estimate and I emailed it back. We worked together by text to choose the location for the shoot. On location, she greeted me with authentic friendliness, gave me her full attention, was thoughtful about the lighting and positioning, and helped me select a stance and head tilt based on her experience photographing fashion models. Julianne was able to get the best from me as a subject. From the start, I felt relaxed and confident. She gave me plenty of time to try two different hairstyles during the shoot. On my request, we actually drove to another location to get the lighting and background just right! Back home, it took just a week for her to send me proofs and another week to lightly retouch the photos we chose and upload them for my use. I was able to download the files easily and I updated my social media accounts immediately! I would use Julianne again and will recommend her to friends and colleagues for professional headshots in the future.” - Jennifer Gardella

“Thanks for being unbelievably awesome and kind at the same time.” Mary Ann Ponti, Director of Outreach and Community Engagement, Shrine Boston

"Julianne is a true pro who goes beyond the camera lens to get to know her clientele so that our true personalities shine through in the photos."
